Since the inception of the SVRI, research on violence against women and violence against children has evolved and expanded significantly. Current evidence highlights the connections and overlap between violence against women, violence against children, and other types of violence in terms of drivers, prevention strategies and required response. Thus, SVRI activities now focus on violence against women, violence against children, and other forms of violence stemming from inequality to further illuminate these connections.
As knowledge managers in the field, the SVRI gathers, develops, distils and disseminates knowledge for improving practice. We facilitate knowledge exchange and sharing by providing colleagues with a variety of digital and face to face communication platforms to network, learn, discuss, influence and develop innovations to strengthen prevention of and response for violence against women, violence against children and related types of violence in low and middle income countries.
